Student Achievement Data from May, 2006

Our school mission is to maximize student achievement in a culture of caring. Mabry Middle School has a rich tradition of academic excellence spanning more than 25 years. Our students are successful because students, parents, and teachers partner together to ensure academic success.

The Georgia CRCTs, a criterion reference test based on the state curriculum, are one of the more important measures of student academic success in middle school. Mabry students do very well on these tests.

This year's data can easily be misinterpreted for two reasons: some of the tests have been changed to reflect the new Georgia Performance Standards (GPS), but some of the tests have not yet been changed as the older curriculum (QCC) has not yet changed to the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). The tests that were re-written have been re-normed and cannot be compared with test data from previous years. The tests that were re-written and re-normed have different cutoff scores for Below Grade Level, On Grade Level, Above Grade Level than the tests that have not been changed yet.

Perhaps this chart will be helpful:

Here is a highly scientific way to interpret the data presented in the charts below: We want more purple (above grade level) and no yellow (below grade level).
