Math 7:

We continued with Mean, Median and Mode.  We discussed using the Mean to work backwards to discover a missing value.

Today's assignment is #8:  from your new ACE packet, #1 - 3, 14, 15. You may use a calculator for computation.  Be sure to complete all parts of all questions.

Tomorrow is Friday which means P.O.D.s are due, we will complete our 3rd multiplication timed test, it is DEAR time, and we will begin Accelerated Math!!

Math 7/8:

Quiz today!!!

Today's assignment is #7:  the worksheet given in class to review addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of positive and negative rational numbers.  The worksheet has two sides!!

Tomorrow is Friday which means P.O.D.s are due, we will complete our 3rd multiplication timed test, it is DEAR time, and we will begin Accelerated Math!!

Math 7:

We worked again today with Measures of Central Tendency (mean, median and mode).  You completed a partner activity on finding the best measure for the middle.

Today's assignment is #7:  the worksheet that you were given in class.  Please be sure to complete all parts of all questions.  You may use a calculator for computation.

Math 7/8:

We continued reviewing operations involving integers.  We discussed the rules for multiplication and division.

Today's assignment is #6:  the worksheet that you were given in class.  There are two sides to the worksheet!

QUIZ TOMORROW over the review topics we have worked on this week!

Math 7:

Open House is tonight!!  I hope to see your parents there!!

Math 7/8:

We reviewed the rules for combining integers.  We played an activity involving dice and a 'race track'.

Today's assignment is #5:  the worksheet titled "How's Business".  The riddle/puzzle is optional.

Your next quiz will be Thursday.

Again, Open House for 7th and 8th grade is tonight!  Please remind your parents so they may attend!!

Math 7:

P.O.D. Week #1 and Friday's multiplication timed tests were returned.

3rd Period was given additional time to finish the Data Quiz A from Friday.  6th Period quizzes were returned.

We began P.O.D. Week #2.

We discussed Scatterplots.

Today's assignment is from your ACE packet, #21 - 23.

Math 7/8:

P.O.D. Week #1 and Friday's multiplication timed tests were returned.

We began P.O.D. Week #2.

We took an Integer Pre-test to show how much we already know!!  Then we reviewed solving problems using proportions by doing three examples together.

Today's assignment is #4: the worksheet titled "Using Proportions".  Work should be done on notebook paper.

We worked again on line plots, stem-and-leaf plots and introduced ordered value bar graphs.

TGIF!!!

The first 30 minutes of our Fridays will be DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read).  Remember to have a silent reading book with you!!

Today we had our first Multiplication Timed Test!!  Following the timed test, you were given a Times Tables Chart to complete.  If you didn't get yours finished in class, please have it completed for Monday.  This should be placed in your General Information divider.

If you did not get your Syllabus (or accelerated letter for Math 7/8) signed last night, please take care of it this weekend and return it to me on Monday.

All pre-tests were completed today in class!!  Hooray!!

If you are a student in Math 7/8, you were also given a letter outlining the requirements of the accelerated program.  This letter should also be signed by mom or dad and returned to me!!

Welcome back to math class - here is your Pre-test!!

You began the Pre-test today and will have tomorrow's class period to complete it. Remember, it is just a pre-test - it does not count as a grade!! The purpose of this pre-test is to provide information for me and to show growth over our year.

If you did not return your Student Information Sheet or the I Understand... sheet, please get those to me tomorrow!

Welcome to MATH!!!

During our first day, students completed a Student Information Sheet. This sheet, along with our classroom guidelines, should have been brought home as there is a section for parents to complete as well. The students also worked on a Beginning of the Year Survey and a math self portrait.

All 7th grade students will take a pre-test beginning Tuesday and to be completed on Wednesday. This test will be used to show growth over this year. Students are not expected to prepare for this test - but make sure to bring a pencil!!
