As you noticed... I wasn't at school today!! I am part of a six-teacher team from Cobb County working on the math state curriculum with Kennesaw State University. We will continue to have meetings periodically throughout the year.

We began Unit 2 of our new curriculum: Patterns and Relationships. We reviewed Order of Operations and evaluating expressions involving variables.
Today's assignment is #19: page 19 #16 - 27. This is your first assignment from your math book. Please copy the problem and be sure to support your answer with scratch work.

We continued with Measures of Variation and introduced Box-and-Whisker Plots.
Today's assignment is #15: the problems given in class. You need to find the Median, Range, Upper and Lower Quartiles, Interquartile Range and any outliers. Then create a Box-and-Whisker Plot for the data.

We began Accelerated Math today in class! If you are not familiar with Accelerated Math it is a computer-based program that keeps students working with basic math skills. Objectives are assigned on an individual basis and students work at their own pace. Accelerated Math will be a weekly activity - each Friday in addition to DEAR time. It is a wonderful program - however, it requires a large quantity of printer paper!!!
During our first session today, we used almost 900 sheets of paper!!!!!!!
So - Mrs. Albertson's wish list has printer paper on it!!! If you are willing to donate a ream of white printer paper - it would be so appreciated!!!
Thank you to those of you that have already donated a ream of paper! I appreciate your support of our math program!
