Checked“ More Geography” for a grade.
Study guides will be given to the class and Reviewing Vocabulary and Reviewing Facts pg.33, will be assigned as classwork and finished for homework. All work will be checked Mon.and reviewed in class; students will be given study time before taking the test.
Test has been postponed til Tues.

Classwork:Teacher modeled how to answer the EQ using main ideas and supporting details. We discussed how to summarize the lesson and all students copied the essay to use as an example for future essential questions.

Answer to the Essential Question pg.28:
What are the parts of culture? There are four main parts to culture. (1) People/family is extremely important part of culture because of its structure,the values they teach and how they meet the physical and emotional needs of the group. Another key to culture is an ethnic group: people who share a language, history, or place of origin and customs. Customs or rites of passage are traditions of the past that are still practiced today. Religion helps to hold families and culture together by influencing the way people think and act. (2) Economy helps to define a culture by how the group decides to use their physical geography/environment and natural resources to meet their basic needs. (3) Government was developed to organize and rule the group. Also, government was given the power to defend the people and resolve environmental issues. (4) Arts and recreation help to define a culture because they are specific to a region. The four main parts of culture that we will study are: People, Economy,Government,and Arts and Recreation.
