« GEOGRAPHY BEE WINNER | Main | Everything you wanted to know for the test »
The first 4 days back from winter break were spent taking the Performance test via computer.
Last week we hit the ground running to cover the geography of India. We had the most fun zooming over the earth via Google Earth. Everyone wanted me to zero in on their address. After surfing the world awhile, we were able to see the effect of subcontinent on the Himalayas, get a close up view of the Ganges River and the delta it forms in Bangaladesh. The Eastern and Western Ghats were easy to pick out along with the Deccan Plateau. Students labeled their maps and a test is set for January 27th.The students will need to know how to spell all the words listed on the back of their maps. No word banks will be given.
So far we have covered the first 2 sections in their book over People and Economy.
On Friday, Jan.20th the children were given a written assignment to complete. They were to explain how India's monsoons could be considered a curse and a blessing at the same time.
If you were not in school on Friday, be sure to see me for this assignment.
