Study for your test on Friday over Chapter:18 The Middle East and North Africa. Your study guide is the secret to success. Don't forget to get a parent signature for 5 bonus pts. added to the test. This test goes on this marking period.

Political map quizzes were returned today to all classes except 2nd period. Retakes will be next Wednesday, in class. THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL ALLOW A RETAKE OF A QUIZ. . Most students have learned how important it is to study the first time. Some still need to start studying earlier and more than just the night before.
CHANGE: Writing assignment willbe due later.
We will also have a test over the three major religions on Tues. Study the chart we did in class.

SOCIAL STUDIES UPDATE

1. Jekyll Island Social Studies packets were checked in class and collected for a grade.
2. All projects from the WebQuest: Finding a Solution to the Israeli and the Palestian conflict were extended til Frday March 3rd.
3. Friday, projects were shared in their task groups and then they chose the best 3-4 projects from each group to share with the class.
4. Students took Power Notes (outline) over The People of the Middle East, pages 369-372.
5. Students were to respond to the Essential Question:What role does religion play in the lives of the people of the Middle East?
6. A power point lesson on the beginnings of Islam was presented and the students were given a chart to complete, comparing the 3 major religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
7. Map Quizzes over the physical geography of the Middle East were returned and the retake of that quiz will be Thurs. March 9th in class.
8. Additional maps were made available to the students for studying.
9. Monday students took Power Notes over the Economy of the Middle East pages 373-376 and answered the EQ: How has the discovery of oil changed the economies of many countries in the Middle East?
