Do not forget to practice the CRCT online site; your form for documentation and parent signature is posted and is due on Friday. The chapter reviews that we did for each unit and I suggested that you keep for the CRCT would also be helpful to look over to refresh your memory. Friday is our day to test.
In class we are continuing to work in our African history packets and will investigate the apartheid movement and Nelson Mandela.
Next week students will need to bring their textbooks to class. We have at least 3 more chapters to complete before the year is over.

Preparing for the CRCT: Required Homework Activity
Practice tests provide students with the opportunity to gain familiarity with the types of questions that they will encounter when they take the CRCT in April. Each test covers all of the major topics in a particular subject area that students are expected to receive instruction in during the current school year. Because the number of questions available on some topics is limited, certain questions may appear on more than one practice test. For students who do not have Internet access computers are available in the Media Center in the mornings.

Do ALL of the five practice tests listed. You do not need to do them at once. There are 2-100 questions on each test. Complete the tests until you get them ALL correct!
Read each question carefully and review your score and answers when finished. You may want to take notes. You can actually learn the answers to topics we have not yet had a chance to complete by continuing to retake these tests and note the correct answers.

We have been studying the ancient kingdoms of Africa and will have a quiz on Thurs. The students have a study sheet of the areas to be covered. Before taking the social studies CRCT,I hope to be able to cover slavery, colonialism and South Africa's apartheid. Most all of the information is being covered in class through streaming video and packets.
I will sending home this week an assignment contract for the students to use for recording their scores from practicing the online CRCT quizzes that Mrs. Glenn and I have developed. It will require your signature once they have been successfully completed.
Our choices for next year's textbook are on display in the Media Center through this Friday. Anyone may stop by and take a peak.
If you have been looking for grades, they have not been posted yet, however I have a ton of them to post and will have them done by this weekend.Any missing grades will need to be completed by the following Thursday.
