Math homework 10/28/05

I am posting this early as I will not be at school Friday.
FRIDAY'S homework:
Complete Set H, SYW. Look at your notes on converting improper fractions to mixed numbers.
Steps:
Divide the top number by the bottom number.
Ex. 23/7 = 23 divided by 7
Several problems from this homework will be a quiz Monday.

Have your parents sign both your Test and Weekly Quiz and bring them to school Monday.

HINT: Look at your notes on multiplying fractions. You must cross cancel when possible. Simplify you answers when needed.
When adding fractions: Look at your notes on converting mixed numbers that contain an improper fraction. You must convert.

HINT: Look at the steps written in your notes for multiplying mixed numbers. You must convert mixed numbers to improper fractions first. You must rewrite the problems to do this -- so -- Do EVERY problem on notebook or graph paper. Circle, box, or highlight your answers.

Math homework 10/21/05

Complete lesson 30, problems 1-25, SYW, circle, box, or highlight your answers. We will do problems A-E in class Monday.
Also, Write Word Problem Solutions for 2 (only 2) missed word problems from Lessons 26, 27, 28, OR 29.
There will be 3-5 quiz questions Monday morning from lesson 30, and we will have our Test Thurs. Practice, Practice.

Students were warned earlier this week that there would be a notebook check Wed., Thurs., or Fri. We didn't get to it Wed. or today, so the "surprise" notebook check will probably be tomorrow.

We will have a test next Wed. Don't let the 'Fraction Frenzy' get you!

Math workbook, lesson 7-2, practice page. SYW - in the workbook (if you write small and can still read it) or on separate graph or notebook paper.
Get Friday's test signed by a parent.

Remember the steps for multiplying fractions:
1. Cancel if possible (cancel across)
2. Multiply numerators
3. Multiply denominators
4. Simplify if needed

Test Friday The study guide will go home on Wednesday. Reviewing worksheet packets # 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 will also be a great help. I suggest focusing on problems you missed.
