BAG Equations 9/19/06

Today we began working with equations having variables on both sides of the equation. This is a critical concept to understand since it is used frequently in Algebra I.

Skills:
-solve one and two step equations with integers.
-solve equations by using the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division properties of equality
-demonstrate the steps used to solve equations
-demonstrate how to check the solution
-solve equations using the distributive property
-solve equations with variables on both sides of the equation

HW:
ws 76 (1-12) Show all steps and checking!
remember that ws "Jail" is due Wed also.
Ch 2 Notebook due Thursday
Ch 2 Test on Friday

Georgia Standards:
-BAG 4.4 Equations/Inequalities: Solve
-BAG 13.2 Mathematical Concepts: Explain
-BAG 2.2 Real Number Properties: All
-BAG 3.1 Operations: Rational Numbers
