BAG Accelerated Math 9/29/06

Today we participated in Accelerated Math - a computerized math program that allows students to work individually on the skills they need to improve on. There is no homework - except to do extra chores for your parents and get some nice fresh air outside, maybe do some yardwork? No computers or TV's! : ) Have a nice, relaxing 3 day weekend!

GEO Basic Concepts and Proofs 9/29/06

Today we talked about the addition and subtraction properties. Learning exactly when to use each one is very important. Use the two hints in the box on p.84 to help you as you practice these properties in proofs.

Today we reviewed how to change back and forth between fractions, decimals, and percents. We discussed repeating decimals and how to convert them to fractions and percents. We used an organizational chart to practice these conversions. Part of our test for this chapter will include a chart similar to this one.

BAG Percents 9/25/06

Today we started Ch 3 (Percents). The new Assignment Guide was given out. Please see previous blog entry to download a copy of it. We discussed rate, ratio, proportion and percent. We completed a worksheet on converting ratios and rates. The Ch 2 Tests were returned today along with a ditto showing all of the problems, work and solutions.

BAG Equations 9/15/06

Today we used a self-check worksheet (ws A-46) to practice equations with integers, and distributive property. These equations are challenging and are very important to master. Keep working on them until you understand how to do each one. Remember - Ch 2 Test is Friday, Sept. 22nd. Ask questions and get help if needed!

ws #75 - use distributive property to solve each problem. Show all work and check your answers.

Today we discussed deductive and logical reasoning. We wrote down several definitions and took notes on chain of reasoning. If gremlins grow grapes then wizards move willows?!?
