Write your own examples of each term. Know the following:

5. Variable- a factor that changes in an experiment
Ex. Size, color, height
6. Independent/Manipulated Variable – the one factor that the scientist changes in an experiment
Ex. 75 ml of water given to a plant bi-weekly for fourteen days.
7. Dependent/Responding Variable- the factor that changes in response to the independent variable
Ex. Plant grew 1.5 cm. New height is 3.0 cm.
8. Generalization- a general or overall statement
