Science

Classwork
(Fri. 12/15)
1. Finish popcorn research and record notes in the appropriate place in your lab report. If you were absent, just read the info provided and do your best until you return to school.
2. Make several qualitative observations about your individual bags of popcorn. Use categories such as taste, texture, size, shape of kernel to make your observations. You do not have to count them, unless you simply want to. I have provided the data for each class below.
3. Click below & record Step IV (Experiment, a)Materials, b) Steps taken and Step V (Observations) on your popcorn lab report.

Homework

1. Click below to find the data for your class. Record all of it on your lab report and bring it to class on Monday. See CW above for exactly what needs to be done. :)
2. Identify the independent, dependent and controlled variables and constants used in this experiment. Use all review handouts on the scientific method(p. 5 of your general info section of the binder) for reference. Due Monday. 3. Remember to continue research on your science fair project and record what you've learned in your log. Date all entries and record start/stop times in the margin as well.

Social Studies

Classwork
1. Complete Sec. 3-3 (Cultures of Russia) outline notes. Use two-column format like the notes that I've provided for you in the past.

Homework
Finish Sec. 3-3 Outline notes.

Class Project Data-For All Classes

Key: P = popped D = duds
OR = Orville Redenbacher Movie Theatre Butter; 3.3 Oz. bags
PS = Pop Secret Movie Theatre Butter; 3.5 oz bags
Act II = Act II Movie Theater Butter, 3.3 oz bags

Step IV. Test the Hypothesis

B.Steps
1.Take a bag of ORMTB and remove plastic wrapper.
2.Place into microwave and preset to 3 min (or popcorn button for PS). Be sure to look & listen for slowing down of popping corn.
3.Take caution when removing the bag from the microwave.
4.Count the number of duds and number popped and record in log.
5.Repeat process three more times for ORMTB & ACTIIMTB.

Data
Act II (Time to cook-varied from 1:35 to 2:10) Why do you think this was the case?
OR (Time to cook- 2:50)
PS (Time to cook-varied from 2:20-2:30)
What can you infer about Pop Secret & OR in comparison to the
Act II?)
