2007 CRCT Testing

Please note the following CRCT testing dates for all grade levels:

April 16: Reading
April 17: Language Arts
April 18: Math
April 19: Science
April 20: Social Studies
Make-Ups will occur in the afternoons of testing days and from April 23-25

All testing will occur in the morning beginning promptly at 9:15 and concluding at approximately 11:30. Please plan Dr.'s appointments accordingly. Students cannot not enter the room once testing has begin and if they leave in the middle of testing they cannot make-up the section. What they have completed will be scored potentially resulting in a failing score. Our experience has been that students test best when in the regular testing environment so attendance during this week is imperative.

A reminder to 8th grade families: 8th graders must pass the reading and math sections in order to be promoted to the 9th grade. Students who fail one or both sections will be required to participate in a retest on June 27 (Reading) and/or June 28 (Math).

Please contact your child's counselor with any questions. Good Luck students!!

Performance Series Testing

Students in grades 6 and 7 will participate in Performance Series online during the 2006-2007 school year. Grade 6 students will be assessed at the beginning of the year, and testing will be completed by September 8th. Grade 7 students will be assessed in January.

The Performance Series is a national, curriculum-based test that measures student achievement in reading, math, and language arts. These tests are given in all Cobb County elementary and middle schools. Certain high school students may also participate.

These tests are multiple choice and are taken on a computer. Each test will take about an hour and will have about 50 questions. Results from these tests will provide the school with important information about the specific strengths and weaknesses of students in the areas tested. These tests do not count as a grade in any class and are only one measure of what and how well students are learning.

This is NOT a high stakes test. It is one tool used by teachers to help identify the instructional needs for their classrooms in order to meet the needs of all students. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Mrs. Jackson at 770-928-5546 ext 236.
