Performance Series Testing

All 7th grade students will be taking the Performance Series Tests in January. Sixth and eighth grade students new to Mabry after September 15 may also be tested. These tests are given in all Cobb County Middle Schools.

The Performance Series is a national, curriculum-based online test that measures student achievement in reading, language arts, and math. These tests are multiple choice and taken on a computer. There are no time restrictions and students may take as long as necessary to complete each test. Results from the test will provide the school with important information about the specific strengths and weaknesses of students in the areas tested.

This is not a high stakes test. It is a tool used by teachers to help identify the instructional needs for their classrooms in order to meet the needs of all students. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Mrs. Jackson in the guidance office.

Career Cruising

Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Haag have been in 6th and 7th grade classrooms working with students on career planning. All students will take a career interest survey before the holiday break. Once we have been to their class students will have set up their own portfolio that they can log into at home. Follow these steps:

www.careercruising.com
Login: mabry
Password: guidance

Click on Portfolio and students will use their personal login (first namelastname)and password (lunch #) to access their career portfolio.

Students are welcome to use this program at home and will continue using it throughout middle school and high school. 8th graders will be working with the counselors at the end of January.
