Kennesaw State is hosting Physical Day on Saturday, April 22 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. During this time Mabry 8th graders can get a $20 physical by a local Dr. $10 will come back to Mabry so be sure to tell them you go to Mabry MS when you check in. This can count as your 2006-2007 sports physical if you are planning on participating in a sport at Lassiter. Check out their website at www.physicalday.com to download the Cobb County Physical Exam Form and to get more details.

Spring has sprung and so have student tardies. Just a reminder that homeroom starts at 8:45. Announcements start and attendance is taken at 9:10. If a student arrives at 9:10 or later, they must stop at the attendance office or welcome desk to sign in. When the line gets long, it takes time for the students to actually get to their lockers and then to class. School officially starts at 9:15 in 1st period and many are missing the beginning of instruction because they have to stop to sign in.
When a student arrives with time to organize their materials they are much more likely to have a good start to their day than when rushing in at the last minute. Please try to get your children here by 9:00 to avoid the late sign-in delay.

The CRCT test will be administered to all Mabry students beginning Monday, April 17 and continuing through Friday, April 21. Please be sure your students are here and on time on these days. Testing will occur beginning at 9:15. 8th graders: Don't forget you must pass math and reading in order to be promoted to 9th grade. Be on the look out for helpful test taking tips on The Counselor Corner in the coming weeks. Call Mrs. Jackson or Mrs. Haag with any questions. Good Luck.

Attached please find your invitation to a Town Hall Meeting, "Start Talking Before they Start Drinking," sponsored by the Cobb Underage Drinking Task Force. The Town Hall meeting will be on March 27 and will focus on the issue of underage drinking in our community.

Attention 8th Grade: Are you nervous about starting high school? Do you want to learn study skills to help you succeed at Lassiter? Do you want to meet new people and learn your way around the building? This and much more will be the focus of the 2006 Lassiter B.O.O.S.T Camp on June 6 and June 7 from 8:30 to 12:30.
