Cheesecake!

Cheesecake Delivery- Wednesday, November 16th

This is to confirm that the fundraiser products will be available for pick-up Wednesday, between 4:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. We’d like to ask that you adhere to the following schedule: last names beginning with letters A-M pick-up between 4:45 and 6:30, last names beginning with the letters N-Z pick-up between 6:30 and 8:30 Obviously if this doesn’t work for you, come when you can. We do not have the room at school to store items!

Use the Steinhauer Rd. entrance (bus entrance). Please follow the traffic pattern and stay in your car. Orders will have been pre-sorted and will be delivered to your car. Stop at the first door and give your name. Drive forward to the second door to retrieve your items.

If your child sold 1-4 items we will try to have them bring the items home with them on the bus. We will have seen 7th graders by the time the cheescake arrive so this is not an option for them.

Your signature on the order form will confirm that you received your order. Remember, the products must delivered or put into the freezer within a few hours. Students should begin delivering the products as soon as possible.

6th Grade Orchestra

Violin-Julie8.jpg
Cello_and_bow2.jpg

The 6th graders started a playing test Monday 11/7, #45 from their book. This will be the last test that won't include using the bow.

Their next playing test is #54. It assesses bowing on open strings only. We used the bow and left hand together for the first time on Friday. Woo hoo!

WHAT TO LOOK/LISTEN FOR:

As you monitor their practice, make certain their left hand fingers are holding the string down firmly against the fingerboard. Also make certain the bow stays parallel to the bridge (white piece of wood holding up the strings) and that the bow contacts the string about half way between the bridge and the end of the finger board (see pictures). All of these will greatly affect the sound produced.

Both hands should be comfortable and relaxed. No squeezing or white knuckles
