We had a great first week in the art room. All the 7th and 8th graders should know the art room procedures. They have started a group multi-media project that is supposed to make an accurate statement of the time in which it was made. I can't wait to see the finished products.
The 6th graders are working on a radial design using their name.

• I am looking forward to a colorful, creative and inspiring school year!
• The art program is taught using a discipline-based approach, comprising art history, aesthetics, art criticism and art production. Instruction in these four disciplines enables students to attain higher levels of performance, critical thinking and aesthetic judgment. While all of these components are integral to the art program, creating is the heart of instruction.
• If your student has art these nine weeks he/she will be receiving a hand out to be read and signed. Please return this as soon as possible.
• This week we will be discussing the rules and expectations in the art room.
• We will introduce and review the 4 disciplines of art.
• Art club will meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month beginning September 1. Meetings will be 8 – 8:45 a.m.
• We are always in need of paper towel donations.
