Finding shapes

The 6th graders are improving drawing skills by finding shapes in a grid and drawing them to solve a picture puzzle.

The 7th graders are making books. The book is an art criticism of a painting using the four steps of art criticism.

The 8th grade students are working on drawing a city from a bird's eye view using a vanishing point and overlapping.

The 6th graders did an art critique of the American Gothic. Ask them to tell you the story behind the painting. They created a take off on the painting.

The elements of art

The 7th graders created a non- objective painting using all the elements of art.( line, color,value, shape, space, texture, form)

The principles of design

The 8th grade students have created an abstract painting using their initials to demonstrate the principles of design.( balance, variety, harmony,emphasis,pattern,proportion,movement)

Welcome to Art Class

We have begun our new nine weeks and I am looking forward to working with the new art students. We have reviewed the art room procedures and are completing a word search with the art vocabulary we will be using thoughout the 9 weeks.
Please take a look at the art work on display in the halls when you come in for conferences.
We always need paper towel donations!!!

Art Exhibit

It is the end of the nine weeks and the students have each picked what they think is their best work. The work will be on display during conference week in the front hall and the art room hall.I have enjoyed having your children in my class.
