The Writing Test is finally behind us! I am encouraged from all the bits of conversation I have heard, that the students feel confident about their essays. We have been told to expect results in March.
Beginning tomorrow, we will be studying the Civil Rights Movement. Included in our readings will be "Choice" by Alice Walker, and King's "I Have a Dream" speech. Literary analysis will be predominant in our lessons as will the students' written and oral responses to the literature.
These lessons will serve as a foundation to our final unit this year on the Holocaust and The Diary of Anne Frank.
