2/28/05-3/4/05

Math- On Monday and Tuesday we will continue to work on Surface area of Prisms and Cylinders.
On Wednesday and Thursday the students will work on finding the Surface area of Pyramids and
cones.
Friday-Accelerated Math and DEAR

Language Arts- 2/28 The students wil report to the Academy lab and finish typing their compare and
contrast essays.
3/1 DEAR We will also review for the adjective and adverb test.
3/2 Adjective and Adverb test
3/3 The students will read the story Charles. They wil answer the comprehension
questions that go with the story.
3/4 We will start the unit on Nouns.

2/22/05-2/25/05

Math-On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be starting chapter 12-1. This section covers Area of Parallelograms, Triangles,and Trapezoids.
On Wednesday we will work on section 12-2 which is Area of a circle.
On Thursday section 12-5 which covers Surface Area of Prisms and Cylinders will be introduced.
Friday is our day to work on Accelerated Math and to read.

Language Arts- Tuesday is our dessignated DEAR time. Also, we will read two articles on Newfoundland and Greyhound dogs.The students will use a CRISS strategy to compare and contrast the two dogs.
Wednesday and Thursday-The students will use the information from the compare and contrast visual organizer to write a 5 paragraph essay. They will also use the Draft Builder template as a guide to help them write the rough draft.
Friday- The students will report to the Academy lab to type their final copy.

Preview of the week

Pre algebra- 2/7 chapter 11 section 1
The language of geometry will be introduced.
2/8 11-3 Angle relationships and parallel lines
2/9 11-4 Triangles
2/10 11-7 Quadrilaterals
2/11 DEAR and Accelerated math

English- 2/7 Adjectives will be introduced this week.
2/8 DEAR along with proper adjectives and articles
2/9 Comparative and superlative adjectives
2/10 Lesson in Proofreading number 10
2/11 Literature-We will read The Slipover Sweater and answer comprehension questions.
