Pre-Algebra

On 8/15 and 8/16 The students will use order of operations to evaluate expressions.

8/17 and 8/18 the students will evaluate expressions containing variables and they will also be able to translate verbal phrases into algebraic expressions.

8/19- DEAR time
The students will have a quiz over the objectives that were covered this week. The material is found on sections 1-2 and 1-3.

Language Arts

8/15- Identifying the four types of sentences and writing them
8/16- Identifying complete subjects and predicates in sentences
- Writing a paragraph

8/17-Identifying simple subjects and simple predicates in sentences
-Writing an advertisement

8/18-Reviewing reading skills: analyzing information, cause and effect, drawing conclusions, and inferring
The students will read the story The Californian's Tale

8/19-Applying the proof reading strategy C.O.P.S.
