3RD PERIOD ONLY - We turned the week's original homework into a class assignment. New homework (The Villian in the Play - vocabulary practice - and "The Great Train Robber") were handed out to students in class today - due Thursday.

6TH PERIOD ONLY - The homework provided to you on Monday is due Thursday. Read and respond to "Murder or Mercy" and complete the vocabulary exercises on the back. We will also complete an in-class, category 3 reading later this week. We hope to complete our podcast this week!

Due to the MLK Holiday on Monday and Wednesday's 8th grade writing assessment, next week's homework will be provided to students on FRIDAY, JANUARY 12. The reading selection is entitled, "A Brilliant Idea," and the vocabulary exercises on the reverse side provide practice with pairs of words that are often confused such as "capitAl" and "capitOl." This work is due on Thursday, January 18. Have a great 3-day weekend!

Reading homework has been altered slightly. Instead of spelling, students have a vocabulary building worksheet along with the same type of reading selection with required responses to complete. This week's reading selection is "The Reluctant Ballerina" and the vocabulary building worksheet is entitled "Famous Men." Both sheets are due Thursday.

This Week - Stay Tuned

Monsieur Israel-Hiles had emergency surgery last Wednesday; instead of attending the leadership retreat, Madame was at the hospital until Friday. SOOOOO...

1) I will miss school tomorrow to take M. I-H to the doctor.
2) I will miss school Wednesday afternoon for the same reason.
3) We do not have school on Tuesday due to it being Election Day.
4) Third period students will have homework as usual this week.
5) Sixth period students will not have homework this week.
5) Please be patient with our substitutes - they are here to help us, and this is a time when Madame needs their help!
