Students are doing well with percents and decimals. We will finish the conversions today and then begin learning how to find a % of a number (very handy when figuring tips and sale prices!) Mostly they need to remember that (% of) means multiply!!! There will be a quiz on Thursday on changing fractions (that don't have a denominator as a factor of 100) into percents. Fridays we will continue to reinforce the weeks concepts and work on our accelerated math. Monday, the 29th we will find a % of a number and have a sort quiz. A unit test will be on Thursday, Feb 1. Then we will begin learning 'order of operations' and exponents.
