We've completed our unit on solids.Surface area gave everyone a hard time so we will re-visit it at a later date.

This week we began studying ratios and proportions. A 'Proportion" is an equation that shows that two ratios are equivalent. To determine if a pair of ratios form a proportion, you can cross multiply. If the cross products are equal, then the ratios form a proportion. You can also use cross multiplication to solve proportions. 1. Write the cross products of the 2 ratios. 2. multiply 3. Divide.

3 = 12

____ ____ 32 x 3 = 96

x 32 96 divided by 12 = 8 so x = 12
