Students review appositive phrases, prepositional phrases, and process check the Fun Facts section of their magazines.
Students take a pop quiz covering appositive phrases and adjective and adverb phrases.
Thursday, 2/22
Students become familiar with participles and participial phrases.

We are beginning our grammar unit on the verbals: gerunds, participles, and infinitives.
Homework tonight is to finish pg. 431 in the Writing and Grammar book.
Grammar work on "Chapter 20" will continue for the next three weeks.

On Friday, students turned in their drafts for the advertisement section of the magazines; I was thoroughly impressed. Students took extra care in exhibiting creativity, accuracy, and task completion on this part of the assignment. Our next part will be the expository article, and the instructions will be discussed on Monday.
