Editorial Evaluation Handout

I will be collecting the evaluations you completed on "Darkness at Noon" and "I Will Be Drug Free" when we return to school on Tuesday. If you do not have it completed by Tuesday, you will have to turn it in on Wednesday for half credit.

Study Guide!

What you need to know: 3 types of persuasive writing, why knowing your audience is important, types of support used in persuasive writing, and Nestorian Order!!

You will also need to evaluate a text using the persuasive techniques we have talked about in class. BE PREPARED!!

Homework!!

You need to bring in an editorial to use during class on Wednesday. An editorial is an article that states and defends one side of a current issue. You may bring your editorial in on Tuesday if you are not sure about it!

The First Day of School!

It is the first day of school, and I have had a great morning! It has been fun meeting everyone, but I am ready to get to work! We will start a small project tomorrow, so come prepared. Here are a few reminders. . .

1) Bring all your signed paperwork in to receive a locker! (This includes a syllabus for each class)

2) Make sure you have a journal by next Monday. You may leave them in the black crates as soon as you get them.

3) If you didn't fill out contact information on your card, please get that to me by tomorrow.

4) Get your binder in order. You should have dividers for writing, grammar, literature, and DOL.
