International Day

Friday at Mabry will be a time of celebrating our cultural roots. During Social Studies, students will view a video about cultural diversity. After the video, we will have an international tasting. Please bring in a snack that represents your cultural origins. Students always enjoy this treat. Last year, one student brought in Portuguese cupcakes that were delicious! Lunch will offer a variety of ethnic treats: egg rolls, fried chicken, and quesadillas. In the afternoon, we will be treated to a performance by Soweto Street Beat an African dance troupe. Thanks PTSA for making this performance possible. We are excited about International Day!

Decoding Unit 16 -im

This week's -im words lend themselves well to writing about the season with words such as trim, chimney, himself, limb. Why I can see the big red guy out on a limb trying to get himself down the chimney.

Old Faithful: Geezer or Geyser?

Our study of geysers, springs, and wells brought about an interesting discussion of geyers. Most students had heard about Old Faithful, the most well-known of all geysers. Thanks to the World Wide Web, we here in Mrs. Krodman's science class can hop on a computer and experience Yellowstone National Park's geysers with the click of a mouse.

So, click here and experience the geysers for yourself.
