Where did the year go? It has been enjoyable and successful.
When I was a child, at the end of every year of my Sunday school class, our rabbi would leave us with words that I have never forgotten: "Take a long walk, read a good book, make a new friend." So, I leave you with these same words that I still think of each year as summer begins and wish you a wonderful, safe summer. See you next year!

Friday will be the day for the test over rocks and minerals. Students have received a study guide to be completed in class and for homework. It is an open book study guide.

In Social Studies, we have begun our study of Australia. One of the interesting things we will do is construct a didgeridoo, an ancient instrument still played by the Aboriginal peoples of Australia. This instrument has been used for over 40,000 years. We will use recycled objects to construct our didgeridoos. Students should bring their objects to school by next Monday, May 15.
Some of the items needed are:
Wrapping paper cardboard tubes (each student needs two)
Paint or markers
Glue (no glue sticks)
String, leather, feathers, beads, or other decorative items you may have
Bonus points will be given to students who read this post and bring in pictures of didgeridoos.

On Friday, April 28, progress reports went home for the half-way mark of the last quarter. Please remember to sign and return them TOMORROW! I know it is difficult to remember on Mondays, so I will extend the due date for one day. Any students not returning progress reports on Tuesday will have lunch detention on Wednesday. Thanks.
