January 26,2006 Essential Question: What are protists? How does the amount of fertilizer affect the growth of an algae?

Warm up# 3: What are the three types of fungus like Protists? The answer was Slime mold, Water mold and Downy mildew.

Today we did a lab with Pond water(algae). We used the clear bottles, and made a hypothesis . We wanted to see if fertilizer affected the growth of algae. We had to add different amounts of water and fertilizer to different groups of jars. The jars were divided into groups: A,B,C, and D.

We also looked at different articles today. You will need to make an illustration of what the article means. We will work on this tomorrow, in class.
