Warm up #3: what is the difference between a food chain and a food web. The answer is a food chain is when one organism eats another and gets energy.
An overlapping of food chains is a food web. Today we talked about energy roles in an ecosystem. First there are the producers that produce food for the consumers. The consumers eat the producers. There are 4 different types of consumers, the carnivore, the herbivore such as a cow, omnivore such as humans, and scavengers like vultures. Then there are the decomposers that eat all the dead material. Examples of decomposers are bacteria, fungi and insects. After we learned about this, we watched a video on birds of prey. We did DEAR after that. There is no homework tonight.
