The warm up #8, and the question is: what is the function of the excretory system. Today we worked on a map of the excretory system. Don't forget to finish the review guide, it's due tomorrow. There is no homework.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 25, 2006
The warm up #7, and the question is what blood type of blood would a person with type A blood be able to receive safely?

Today we did the lab on blood types. You had to mix different types of blood, and see if it was ok to receive a certain type of blood. That was recorded on a data table. That was later turned in for a grade. After that we studied out review guide. There is no homework for tonight.

The warm up #6. The question is what are the 4 types of blood.

We watched a video about digestion today. We had to write a 6- 10 sentence paragraph on waht we had learned from watching the video. The lab was passed back after that. We worked on a sheet after that. It should be down as #7 in your notebook, and it is called blood & lymph.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 21, 2006
The warm up #5, and the questions are: what is blood made up of, and What are the 3 types of blood vessels?

We completed the lab today.
The objective of the lab was to see the effect of physical activity on the heart beat.


Everyone measured their pulse while running, jogging, sitting, etc. There were questions to answer. We then graphed using the information from the chart. That was all put in a packed and turned in for a lab grade.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 19, 2006
The warm up for today is #3, and the question is: what are the parts of an excretory system? The answer is kidneys, uretar, urinary bladder, and urethra. Today we discussed the excretory system. There are two new worksheets to add to your table of contents. #4 is final digestion, and #5 is excretory system. These two worksheets were completed in class. After that we did some last minute practice for the CRCT science test, which is tomorrow.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 18, 2006
The warm up for today is #2, and the question is list 3 organs in a digestive system and write down their functions. Today Ms. Kulkarni introduced us the excretory system. As we all know that it is the system that removes waste, I think we get the point from there. We saw a video presentation on the track of digestion. After that we worked on the workbooks for chapter 16 section 2.

Today we completed the digestive system. Afterwards Mrs. Kulkarni showed us an activity on the digestive and excretion system. Our vocabulary sheets were returned today.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 17, 2006
Warm up #1
What are the levels of organization in the human body, and what are the four types of tissues, and their functions.

Today we got a new table of contents. You should have warm up, vocabulary, and the digestive process in your notebook.We sang a song about the organization in the human body. We learned about the digestive system and did a work sheet, which is #3 in your notebook. Those were corrected in class. There is no homework tonight.

Today in first period we reviewed the levels of organization.
Mrs. Kulkarni showed us a few examples on the board while we did so. Afterwards we took two CRCT Reviews for the upcoming testing next week. Students who had not finished the vocabulary turned their's in.

We are reviewing characteristics of animals this week. We have been looking at different specimens and trying to identify the organisms provided in the jar.

On Thursday, students will identify the specimen given to them. They will write down the characteristics of the organisms. It will be counted as a test grade.

Class Notes For Second Period

April 10, 2006
Today we reviewed the 7 levels of classification:Kingdom, phylum, class, order, genus, family, and species. After that we reviewed the 6 different kingdoms.
Ms. Kulkarni gave us different specimens in a jar. We had to identify the specimen and write the characteristics of the organisms that were in the jars. There will be a quiz on this, Thursday.
