Reminder: Book marks are due tomorrow.

This week in class students will be working on the following skills.

1: Understand the importance of - and keep - honest, clear, and accurate records in science.
2: Use appropriate tools for measuring objects and/or substances.
3: Write clear, step-by-step instructions for conducting particular scientific investigations, operating a piece of equipment, or following a procedure.
4: Scientific investigations usually involve collecting evidence, reasoning, devising hypotheses, and formulating explanations to make sense of collected evidence.

Students will work on the Gummi Bear lab to investigate the effect of water on gummi bear when soaked overnight. They will follow the scientific method to work on this lab.

Also this week, they will learn the parts and functions of the microscope. We will have a day of “Microscope Mania” where students will go to different stations to perform activities.
Bring your D.E.A.R book on Thursday.

Test on Lab safety rules, Scientific method and Microscopes will be next week.(Week of Aug 28th).Students should start looking at their binders and review the concepts. I will post the exact date of the test later.
