September 6-7: COGAT Ability Test
September 11-15: ITBS Achievement Test
Please make sure that your student is well rested and on time these days. Students who are absent will have to make up the tests during alternate times.

Today we went over the homework from the workbook (Practice 1-6). Please refer to the Class Notes section of my blog for the answers to this. We then reviewed section 1.7 Solving 2-Step Equations. Again, please refer to the Class Notes section of the blog to see today's class examples. The homework for tonight is pgs. 35-36 (13-43 odd/omit #37).

Today I passed out the workbooks. Please bring this to class with you daily. If you misplace your workbook, there is a $12 replacement fee. We completed our warm-up activity from the workbook. We then discussed section 1-6 Writing Expressions and Equations. Your homework for tonight is to complete (.in the workbook) Practice page 1-6 (#1-21 all). We also started the Equations Quiz. Many of you did not finish, so you will have time in class tomorrow.

Today we played a great game called Equation Bingo. We then covered 1-step equations with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The homework tonight is pg. 19 (13-29 odd) and pg. 24 (13-29 odd). Please show all steps and check all work. There will be a quiz tomorrow over the material covered today and yesterday.

Today I passed back the Integer Quiz. If you scored below and 89%, I gave you an extra practice sheet to complete and turn in tomorrow. We then covered a lot of material today as follows: 1-2 Powers and Exponents and 1-3 Variables, Expressions and Equations. Please refer to the class notes section in my blog to view today's class notes. There will be a quiz Wednesday. Tonight's homework is pg. 10 (13-33 odd). You may use a calculator on this page. Also, complete pg. 14 (15-39 odd). Remember to check your odd problems in the back of the book.

Today we played an integer card game. This game reinforced the concepts of combining integers through addition and subtraction and also, multiplying integers. Then we worked on review problems. The homework is to finish the worksheet that was passed out in class today. Remember, there are two sides (front and back) that need to be completed. We will have a quiz tomorrow. We will review all of the integer rules just prior to the quiz.

Today we did a brain busting activity: The Magic Circle. We also went over multiplying and dividing integers. The homework tonight is Pg. 80 (13-33 odd) and Pg. 82 (15-39 odd/45/47). Today we reviewed more addition with integers. We also covered subtraction with integers. Tonight's homework is the worksheet that was passed out in class today. There will be a quiz Friday over Integers and four Fraction problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

I passed back the decimals quiz today. We reviewed multiplying and dividing with fractions. We then covered the following topics:
2-1 Integers and Absolute Value
2-2 Comparing and Ordering Integers
2-3 Adding Integers
The homework tonight is: Pg. 58 (21-37 odd); Pg. 60 (10-24 all) and the You Write the Rules Worksheet.

We had a great week in BAG class!! Today we took a quiz on decimals. We also reviewed multiplying and dividing fractions. Your homework is pgs. 603 and 604, the first column on both pages. Have a great week-end!!

Today we checked pgs. 600 and 601. We also completed a warm-up activity. We then reviewed addition and subtraction of fractions. The homework for tonight is pg. 602 (1-39 odd). There will be a quiz tomorrow on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals.

Today we continued to work on the pre-test. We reviewed basic skills with decimals (add/subtract/multiply/divide). The homework assignment is pg. 600 and pg. 601 (21-47 odd problems on both pages). Please be sure to write the problem and show your work. Also, be sure to get your syllabus signed if you have not already done this. There will be a decimals quiz on Friday.
