Effective, efficient, and safe internet searching is crucial to student academic and personal success. Grade 7 Language Arts students will discuss how to select an appropriate search engine, evaluate a web site, and protect privacy.

Mrs. Glenn's classes will discuss the research process, utilizing research help sheets designed by Mrs. Hendrix, and based on the Flip-It! research model created by Alice Yucht. Steps include selecting a topic and formulating a thesis statement, taking notes and creating bibliography/works cited cards, formulating search strategies (both on the web and with other media), evaluating web sites, using primary and secondary resources (including the Cobb Virtual Library).
