March 2 is Read Across America Day, held on the birthday of author, Dr. Seuss. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Read Across America and the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Cat in the Hat!
Mabry will celebrate by participating in a national read-aloud of the book at 2:36 P.M. on March 2. Why 2:36? The book has exactly 236 words! Students who own a copy of The Cat in the Hat should bring it to school, in case all reachers do not have a copy.
In addition, the Media Center will post a Seuss book trivia question each class period on March 2. Students should submit their answers to the circulation desk in the Media Center. Students may answer any or all of the 7 questions. Winners for each question will receive a Dr. Seuss book.
Let's celebrate reading!!!
