Today we discussed the lesson on Bosnia-Herzegovina. We also watched a video on the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Homework: Discuss the Georgia election with you parents and then use the ballot you were given in class to vote. You will vote in class online tomorrow.
Our class is collecting small packs of crayons and small activity book or coloring books. These materials will be sent to Peru to be given to orphans. My sister and her husband are raising funds to help build an orphanage in Peru, and they will be leaving for Peru this weekend. My sister asked if we could collect the crayons and coloring books and put them in zip lock sandwich bags. If you can bring anything in, it would be greatly appreciated. We will only be collecting until Thursday the 2nd. Thank you so much.

Students re-read 3.2 silently and then we went over the SQ3R Two-column notes the students took last week. We then took the 3.2 quiz and read lesson 5.2 on Bosnia- Herzegovina. If students did not finish reading pages 146- 151 and doing page 151, #s 3-5, they need to complete this for homework.
We will be doing an online "Cobb Students Vote" at school this week and I have asked the students to talk to their parents about the elections here in Georgia. I will give them a sample ballot to take home tomorrow to pre-Vote. Students will be voting on a web site designed by Kennesaw State University. It is voluntary.

Some students presented their power points today, and we will continue with presentations tomorrow. It looks like presentation may even go into Friday. I have been very pleased with what I have seen so far! :) I have the best students and the best student's parents!!!!!
For those of you who have not presented yet, make sure you know your topic. Reading from your power point word for word is not good.

We were working in the MacLab today and everything went very well except for 1st period; the server went down and some students lost what they were working on today. They did not loose everything, only what they had started today. We will be in the MacLab tomorrow and Thursday. If you do not finish on Thursday, I can email you Power Point to finish at home. Again, the best way to get your project from home to school is to email it to me at teresa.miceli@cobbk12.org

To give the students an idea of what I will be looking for in a power point presentation, I showed them a power point created by a student I had last year; I think it was helpful. We reviewed for the 3.1 quiz and then took the quiz. We also worked on making a rough draft for their PPT project and some students worked on research.
Homework: STUDY FOR YOU EAST EUROPE MAP TEST. You can go online a do a search for “Europe map quizzes” to find some online quizzes to help you study. You need to know how to spell the name of the countries and the bodies of water, I will give you a word bank for the capitals.
Parents, attached are a copy of the research directions I gave the students last week. If you have any questions on what the students need to do for the European research project, hopefully this will answer your questions.
