Today we took the USA & Canada chapter 1 test and worked on the Canada web quest. If you were absent today, please come in tomorrow morning at 8:15, go to the theater, and tell Ms. Hanserd you need to see me.
HOMEWORK: Work on you Canada Web quest; your article and map are due tomorrow (Friday, 3/30). Your article needs to be at least four paragraphs long and typed or written in blue or black ink. Your map needs to be colored and labeled, and have a key.
Parents,
If you would like to preview the new textbooks up for adoption ,and rate them, you may come to the school, sign in, and then go to the Media Center workroom and rate them. There is a Yellow folder with the forms you will need to rate the different textbooks. There are two different publishing companies for each grade level.

Today we checked the 1.3 assignment and then took the 1.3 quiz. We also worked on our web quest article and map. If you don’t enough information on you web quest topic you need to go online and get the information you need. Use the blog entry from 3/20/07 to access some sites that will help you. Your web quest article and map are due on Friday, 3/30/07. Your article needs to be at least four to five paragraphs.
The chapter one test is tomorrow, 3/29/07.

Today we worked on the Canada Webquest. Go to the Blog entry for March 20th; it has the webquest site and extra sites for collecting information on your topic. Your article and Map are due on Friday March 30th. If you did not finish taking notes on your topic today in class, then you need to finish taking notes on your topic for homework.
Please note that we will have the Chapter 1 test on Thursday, 3/29.

Today we took checked the 1.2 homework/classwork assignment and then took the 1.2 quiz. If you did not finish 1.2 page 20, #’s 1-6, you need to finish it, and turn it in on Monday. If you don’t turn this in on Monday, you will either serve a morning or after school detention next week.

I won't be at school on Wednesday and Thursday the 21st, and 22nd, so we won't work on the Canada Webquest until I get back.
Homework: If you did not finish page 14, #'s 1-6 and the compare/contrast paragraph in class today, you need to finish it for homework. You will have the 1.1 quiz on Thursday.

I was out on Wednesday, but the students took the 6.1 quiz and read 4.1 pages 83-88, and did pg.88, #s1-5 and took the 4.1 quiz (opened book).
Today students presented their Latin America projects.
Since we will have a number of students out on the 20th for the Chorus Festival, and we will have 5th graders here for “Shadow Day,” we will have the Latin America Unit test on Monday the 19th.
Homework: Study for your Latin America Unit test.

Today we read 6.1, pages 128-134, and did page 134, #s 1-5. If you did not complete this in class, you need to complete if for Homework.
I won’t be in school tomorrow so I am changing the date of the Latin America Unit test; it will be on Tuesday 3/20/07.

The “Save the Amazon Rainforest” groups presented their findings and recommendations to the class. The students also received a study guide for the Latin America Unit test. The Unit test will be on Thursday, 3/15/07. The Unit test will be over chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, and 4.1, 4.3, and 6.1. Use your notebook and your textbook to help you study.
Homework: Finish your Latin America project; it is DUE Monday, 3/12/07.

Today (3/8/) we worked in our “Save the Amazon Rainforest” groups completing our posters or power points.
If you were absent today and you were supposed to have brought something in for your group, please try to call someone in your group and make arrangements to get it to them. If you will be here tomorrow, try to come in at 8:15 to meet your group to finish your presentation.
If you want bonus points for your Latin America project tomorrow is the last day to turn it in early. Latin America projects are due on Monday, 3/12/07.

Today the students worked on creating a power point or a poster for the “UN” presentations on Friday. Tomorrow will be the last day to work on the presentations. If you told your group you would bring something in, please bring it in.
If your Latin America project is complete, please bring it in or email it to me ASAP. The project is due on 3/12/07, but if you turn it in this week you will get bonus points.

We were in the MacLab today working on the “Save the Amazon Rainforest” webquest. Your group should have completed Step 2 today and your group should be ready to work on your visual (either a power point or a poster). You will have Wednesday and Thursday, in class, to complete the visual. Your group will present your findings on Friday. I have added more web sites to help you with the Amazon Rainforest webquest, check them out.

We were in the MacLab working on the “Save the Amazon Rainforest” webquest. If you were absent today and you know what research group you are in, work on Step 1 and Step 2 for your group.
If you have not completed the Independent assignments from last week you may come in tomorrow at 8:15 to finish taking the quizzes you have not taken, or you may finish the Mexico notes and article summary.
Homework: Work on your Latin American project: Due Date March 12, 2007. Remember, you can get 5 bonus points if you turn your project in early.

We discussed the webquest we are going to complete next week and picked our groups. If you were absent today your friends signed you up for your group. The attached handout is the guidelines for the webquest for each group. I have also attached the web address for the complete webquest. We will be in the MacLab 3 days next week and will complete the webquest in class.

Today was our last day to finish our Independent assignments in class. If you haven’t finished your assignments you may come in at 8:15 tomorrow morning. Go to the theater first and let Ms. Hanserd know you need to see me and she will let you come down.
