Canada map test on Thursday,4/26/07

Today we were working on the computers doing research for our provinces of Canada. Our map test of Canada will be on Thursday, 4/26/07. If you have not finished your map, you need to make sure you finish it tonight. If you did not finish the quizzes for chapter 2, please try to come in tomorrow morning; I will be here at 8:00 A.M. to let you in, or you can come in at 8:15 and I will let Ms. Hanserd know I am expecting you.
Students will be giving oral presentations on a province or a territory of Canada. The following are the directions for our research:
Explore and research your province or territory in depth. You will try to convince your other classmates that this province or territory is the best tourist destination in Canada. Look through the Internet resources to find interesting things to see or do in the province or territory. Choose 5 places and give the names of the places you have chosen (for example: The Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain…). Tell us what city they are near, and the reasons you chose these places, or why we would want to go there. You will also give us a brief history of the province. For example: what group of people colonized the area, what encouraged them to migrate to that area. You will also tell the class what the climate is like, describe the geography, tell us what the area’s economy is associated with (the types of jobs people have), and tell us about the population. You will share your information in an oral presentation with a power point that has pictures of the tourist sites that you recommend. After the oral presentations, the class will vote on the most exciting tourist destination.

There was a mistake made in the HW grade for 2.4

Today we reviewed for the CRCT and received a latitude and longitude sheet to complete for homework.
The SS CRCT is tomorrow so get a good night sleep and eat something for breakfast.

Parents,
I made a mistake when I entered the homework grade for the 2.4 lesson. Instead of the HW being out of 5 points it was put in as being out of 50 points. I have made the correction. I am sorry about the mistake.
