Monday:
EQ: To what extent does human experiences influence literary works?

In Class: Read The Outsiders Chapters 1-2. Answer comprehension questions for Section 1.

Vocabulary reviewed:

HW:
Gender in Magazines: Find two advertisements/include representations of people.
Examine how men and women are portrayed in the advertisements and answer the questions on the worksheet.

Tuesday:

EQ: How do writers define their characters?
How can we use context clues to help us while we are reading?

In Class: Review Homework assignments. Discuss Section One questions. Read Chapters 2-3 and answer questions.

HW: Have A SAFE and fun Halloween.

Wednesday:

MAC LAB: Make a vocabulary or character presentation.

Thursday:

Retest at 8:15

Complete presentations and Section 3 of The Outsiders

HW: Spelling page 42. Proofreading for spelling errors and word omissions.

Monday:
EQ: What effect does sound and figurative language have on poetry? What is the difference between rhythm and rhyme?

We will read several poems from the Literature Book and answer the essential question. Vocabulary will be reviewed

HW: Spelling Pages 36-37/Spelling check Tuesday
Review for Poetry TEST on Thursday. Have Study Guide signed.

Tuesday:

Spelling check will be given over Unit 6/Homework checked
Reading Logs will be reviewed.

HOMEWORK: STUDY FOR TEST ON THURSDAY
