Our children have been so very busy with their academics. We work from bell to bell and I feel that a lot of learning is taking place. We are still working on grammar, writing interesting sentences with complete thoughts, and identifying subjects and predicates. My students have also been spending a lot of time on comprehension skills. They use graphic organizers and even enjoy giving their own opinion on which ones I should choose for the specific activity.
The sixth graders, in math, are learning more and more about fractions, money and even algebraic equations. The math appetizers, at the beginning of every class, are opening the student's mind to other mathematical concepts such as ratios, ordered pairs and are quite stimulating.
