I have made a tenative schedule for our classes. This will give all of you an opportunity to get ready for your Canadian project and see our timeline for presentation work.

Week of April 23rd-27th

Monday: Canada – Population Distribution –Partner work

Tuesday- all tasks from Webquest – climate, natural resources, etc. Partner work.
How do these geographical themes define a place?

Wednesday - Choose a territory or province for your presentation. /
Homework – Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday- gather at least four sites and materials that you can read about your province or territory. This counts as four homework grades. This is due Monday, April 30th.

Thursday and Friday- Australia-Continue sections of Chapter 7.

Week of April 30th-May 4th

Monday-Bring in articles you intend to use for your presentation. Note: Not the poster board, just the written articles and pictures.

Tuesday-Time given in class to read articles, highlight information of interest and citing your resources.

Wednesday- Begin an outline and/or rough draft of presentation.

Note: Take home your materials; begin putting together your presentation. Projects will be presented May 7th-9th.

Thursday and Friday-Oceania

Week of May 7th-May 11th.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday- Canadian Webquest Presentations.
Thursday and Friday-Great Barrier Reef

Today we began our review for the CRCT.
Regarding the Canadian Webquest: On Thursday, I will collect the folders and we will continue the Webquest after the CRCTs.

Thursday-We will do a History of Canada and a review of geographical terms.

v Building a Lock-Bring materials and assemble in class. Fill out accompanying sheet.
v Or-Have you Rain Forest product paper and poster board to advertise product. All work to be done in class.

Today, you were given a study guide for Latin America. The final exam is on Wednesday,
March 21st. Tonight's homework is to have your parents sign the study guide and do the first section.
We will go over the answers first thing tomorrow. Here is the assignment for the week;
Tuesday-Section 2-homework
Wednesday-Section 3-homework
Thursday-Section 4-homework
Friday-the other side of the page in class.
Tomorrow, we will begin our presentations. Have your rubric filled out. Wednesday is the last day of presentations.

Your rough draft of your Caribbean story is due tomorrow. We will be decorating the bags for presentation next week.
Your letter to the Ambassador of Peru or Brazil is due tomorrow.

March 5, 2007

We have so much going on! The letters to the ambassadors of Peru and Brazil are great!. You may type or write your letter on unlined paper. This is due March 7th.
Tomorrow, we will work on our Caribbean stories. We will compare different singers from the Caribbean. We will decorate the brown paper bags in class this Friday. We will present our story bags Monday Tuesday, and Wednesday. You will know what day you will be presenting. You may dress up.

February 22, 2007

Good Morning! Yesterday all of the classes worked on their compare contrast essays. A rubric was provided.
Friday_ your first draft is due. Monday- the final draft. Wednesday-the paper is due.
Today we are reading a book about Marion Anderson to celebrate Black History Month. Mrs. Krodman has a great lesson to go along with the book.

February 11th

Tomorrow, Monday February 12th we will be trading books. If you cannot participate, please bring a note. 2.5 will be covered tomorrow with papers from Junior Scholastic.
This week we will begin Chapter 3 - cultures of Central America and Latin America.

February 6th

Study for your Chapter 2 vocabulary test on Friday. We will also do a book trade that day.
Your responses on the the primary sources were quite good. We will go over them in class today. Also, we will prepare our vocabulary bingo cards.

January 18,2007

Today we will continue to work on our Ancient Civilizations compare and contrast. You will receive a Venn Diagram for this assignment. We will use the information from your chart organizer, notes from the Inca civilization, and your book for this assignment.
Make sure your notebook is in order. Check the Table of Contents on the Board.

Tomorrow, we will begin building a timeline highlighting events of these civilizations. Next week, we will take this information and use the Timeline program in the Mac Lab.

December 18th

What a wonderful day. Today we made our edible maps of South America. Photos will be posted by Wednesday.
We have several students that have been quite ill. Please check with me and we will get your assignments done as quickly as possible.

This is an excellent game for review of Chapter 1.1 in your Latin America book.
There will be a quiz on this information Monday.

I wish to take this opportunity and thank all of my students for their wonderful behavior on the field trip.

Here is an overview of this week:

Monday- Assemble cereal boxes and complete rubric. Geography review.
Tuesday-Germany- Miss Fortune has lesson for Tuesday and Wednesday

Thursday- Test on Western Europe and D.E.A.R.
Friday- We will be watching the movie titled Paperclips. You may bring a snack and a drink.
