Thank you to all of the parents who donated Play-Doh for our lab today. We equated the steps of the writing process to the steps a sculptor goes through to create a work of art.
Please read in your library book 20 minutes.
Remember to bring a library book to class for DEAR time tomorrow.

Get your LA syllabus signed and return the second page to Ms Shaw on Thursday.
4th period only-Finish your journal entry. Remember to write well constructed sentences.
Optional:
Bring in Play-Doh for a LA lab on Monday.
Print out a page from my blog for bonus and turn in to Ms Shaw either Thursday or Friday.

Advanced Content Language Arts (AC LA)
-Complete the journal entry "My first day of middle school was..."
Be sure to write in complete sentences, use vivid verbs, descriptive adjectives, and watch punctuation and spelling.
-Summer reading logs and book chat paragraphs are due tomorrow.

Our goal is for every student to read at least one million words this school year! Each student will read a minimum of 25-grade level appropriate books or book equivalents (approximately 1,000,000 words) per year from a variety of subject disciplines. The student will have the opportunity to read both informational and fictional texts in a variety of genres and modes of discourse, including technical texts related to the various subject areas. The student will maintain a Reading Log that will travel with them from class to class and become a part of their Language Arts portfolios. So students, be sure and bring a book to read to school each day and have fun becoming a "Millionaire!"
