Our goal is for every student to read at least one million words this school year! Each student will read a minimum of 25-grade level appropriate books or book equivalents (approximately 1,000,000 words) per year from a variety of subject disciplines. The student will have the opportunity to read both informational and fictional texts in a variety of genres and modes of discourse, including technical texts related to the various subject areas. The student will maintain a Reading Log that will travel with them from class to class and become a part of their Language Arts portfolios. So students, be sure and bring a book to read to school each day and have fun becoming a "Millionaire!"
