TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS/PERFORMANCE

Have you got a talent that you are dying to try out on an audience? If yes, then this is your chance. The Mabry "Star Search" Talent Show auditions will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 from 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. You may pick up a permission form to stay after school for auditions that day from Mrs. Smith. Only those that turn in their forms may stay after school. Some teacher volunteers will help to decide the winners. Sorry, no parents or other friends may come to the auditions. We are looking for a wide range of talents. If you want to host the show you will have to come and audition for an opening speech to start the show. If you are selected you must be able to stay after school the day of the show, Tuesday, April 11th from 4:30 -5:45 p.m. The show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale that week for your parents and friends.

Parents and Students,
Our Talent Show auditions will be held in the theater for those that bring back this permission form prior to the audition date of Wednesday, March 22 from 4:30 – 5:30p.m. We are looking for all types of acts like, singing, drama acts, dancing, joke tellers, magic acts, instrumental groups, piano, tumbling etc. Any music with lyrics used for an act must be school appropriate. Print out the lyrics for Mrs. Smith. If your talent is a rock band you may audition by video tape of the actual song that your group will play. No vocals for the bands unless the song is an “Oldie” due to inappropriate lyrics not allowed at school. (Instrumental only) If you would like to audition for host or hostess you will need to prepare your opening presentation to the crowd as your audition. Ex. Hi, I’m ??? and tonight we … You may also be creative in this presentation by being funny or doing something clever to get the audience ready for the show.
You will only need to perform the first half of your entire act as we will have judges from school listening for the very best acts. Those chosen will get to perform in the actual show. I am limited to 15 – 17 acts in order to keep the show time down to 1 hour. Winners will be posted outside my door after the judges have had time to make their choices.
If you are chosen to perform you will need to be at the dress rehearsal which is the day of the show on Tuesday, April 11th at 7 p.m. The rehearsal will begin after school and end by 5:45 p.m. so that you can get something to eat and come back by 6:45 p.m. to start the show. If you cannot make these dates do not audition. Tickets will be sold before school and at the door for $3.00 each.
