ASSESSMENT:Jeopardy Review Game - students review for Chapter 8 Test in class on Tuesday; Reviewing Main Ideas - Students answer review questions over Chapter 8; Chapter 8 Test on Wednesday
HOMEWORK:Complete Reviewing Main Ideas on p. 121 in textbook(if not finished on Tuesday). Study for Chapter 8 Test! Test will be given on Wednesday for all students.
For extra points on test - Find out how a critical vote by Baldwin at the Convention led to the Great Compromise. Write HOW he voted on the test scan-tron by Score Box and print off blog page.

SKILLS:1.Describe Georgia's new constitution and government 2.Describe importance of battles in Georgia during Revolution
ASSESSMENT:Students create concept web or outline
HOMEWORK:2nd - 7th period Create concept web of pages 110 - 115 - students started on this in class today and should finish for homework. In addition, all students who did not turn in their essay on George Washington should turn it in on Thursday (final copy should be written in ink or typed).

SKILLS: All classes watched Part II of video, "The Crossing." Some classes still need to view the very end of movie tomorrow, and some finished today. 1) Analyze historical event(crossing the Delaware) and identify factors which led to American victory over British 2)Describe personal qualities and skills which made Washington an outstanding leader
ASSESSMENT: Students answer factual and critical-thinking questions over movie "The Crossing."
HOMEWORK: All classes were assigned questions over movie (at least through #10) - due on Tuesday. In addition, students will discuss movie in class on Tuesday and write an essay about George Washington. They will begin the essay in class and finish it at home for homework on Tuesday night. The final copy will be due on Thursday, December 15.

SKILLS:Recognize turning point of American Revolution and interpret qualities that make a strong leader (specifically examine George Washington's leadership skills)
ASSESSMENT:Questions over movie "The Crossing" -
Students viewed part of video today and will view the rest of movie on Monday. A short quiz followed the first half today. An essay will be assigned on Monday.
HOMEWORK: None (Students will have an essay to write after viewing and discussing the movie on Monday)
NOTE: Students shared newspapers yesterday, and they were wonderful!!! Students shared some excellent information and creative political cartoons. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!! It will take several days (maybe a week) to get all newspapers graded and recorded on iParent - thank you for your patience!! I don't want to rush and not truly read all articles.

SKILLS: 1.Identify causes of the American Revolution
2. Identify cause/effect relationships
ASSESSMENT:1. Revolutionary Times Newspapers - All students have been working diligently on newspaper articles, political cartoons, editorials for newspapers. Newspapers and articles were due today (Wednesday, December 7) for all classes. Some extensions have been given to students who were absent, but groups should see me concerning extension times. Students had use of computers for 2 class periods and also received class time to work on newspapers. 2. Quiz over Acts/Events leading to Revolution
**If students were absent today (or Tuesday, December 6) they need to arrange to come early to take the quiz. Study pages 104 - 109 in textbook (Know ACTS/taxes levied on colonists).
ALSO: Students who were absent Tuesday or Wednesday should get a permission form for viewing the movie "The Crossing". Students will not be able to view the movie without a permission form.
HOMEWORK: Complete p. 109 Locating Main Idea in textbook if you have not done so. Finish newspapers if not turned in.
