ASSESSMENT: Multiple-Choice and Essay Test over Civil War (Ch. 13)
HOMEWORK: Finish Civil War Projects - DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 31st (I will accept them the Monday after Spring Break if students need additional time to work).
7th PERIOD: STUDY FOR CIVIL WAR TEST - All 7th period students will take the test on Friday (also any students who missed the test on Thursday).

ASSESSMENT: PowerPoint Presentation Notes; Skit (Mini-play) performance: A Soldier Interview
HOMEWORK: All students should have completed a reading assignment (pages 194 - 197) and turned in a LETTER from a Civil War soldier containing specific facts, battle information, etc. Students should also be working on their Civil War Projects - Due March 31st. The TEST over Civil War will be on Thursday, March 30th.

ASSESSMENT: Note-taking and oral discussion (PowerPoint Presentation on Civil War) Checklist will be used for oral discussion
HOMEWORK: No new homework - continue working on Civil War Projects. The Test over Civil War will be given next THURSDAY, MARCH 30.
STUDENTS SHOULD KEEP UP WITH ASSIGNED READING FROM TEXTBOOK AND STUDY THE ATTACHED POWERPOINT PRESENTATION IN ORDER TO BE PREPARED FOR THE TEST.

Note: Students have worked in the Mac Lab all week to produce virtual scrapbooks, PowerPoint presentations, timelines, and other technology -connected projects
HOMEWORK: All Classes - Read pages 188 - 193 in textbook. Be prepared for quiz over material on Friday!
Continue working on projects.

SKILLS: To identify advantages/disadvantages the South had on the Eve of the Civil War
ASSESSMENT: Graphic Organizer Notes (Promethean Board was used for this activity) Ask for notes if you missed class today.
HOMEWORK: Read through Civil War Project descriptions (handout given to all classes). Select the projects to work on for total of 100 points.
FINAL DUE DATE is MARCH 31. Students will be given at least 5 days in class to work on projects; they should be organized so as not to waste time!
(I will accept them on Monday, April 10 without penalty if students choose to work on projects during Spring Break. NOTE: I am not assigning work over Spring Break, but will give extra time if needed)

SKILLS: To debate whether Georgia and other southern states should or should not secede from the Union
ASSESSMENT: Oral presentation (Debate) A checklist will be used to evaluate.
HOMEWORK: 1st and 2nd periods: No HOMEWORK 3rd, 6th, and 7th periods - Prepare for DEBATE on Tuesday. A paragraph will be sufficient or bulleted points. Students chose whether they WOULD or WOULD NOT secede and should state reasons during the debate.
SLAVERY PROJECTS LOOK GREAT! I WILL POST SOME OF THEM THIS WEEK , so keep checking the BLOG.
