ASSESSMENT: Fill-in-blank & short-answer Quiz over Constitution

**Many students were absent today and should plan to take the quiz on Monday when they return. It was written on my blog for Thursday assignment, so students should have checked the blog. Also - students who were absent should turn in answers to the essential questions posted on Thursday's Blog.

HOMEWORK: NO HOMEWORK! Have a good weekend!!

This website will be used for next week's assignment if students want to explore it now.

The Constitution

SKILLS: To describe the personal freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights

ASSESSMENT: Give One Get One sharing activity, Discussion, and PowerPoint Notes - students brainstorm as many amendments as they can think of and then compare with partner.

HOMEWORK: Answer these 3 essential questions (1 - 2 paragraphs or several sentences for each question)

1. Why was the Bill of Rights added to the Constitution, and is it still necessary today?

2. Are there times when it is OK to give up our civil liberties? Explain

3. Does the Bill of Rights ever conflict with national interest? ( Example: national security)

SKILLS: To identify the framers of the Constitution; to compare/contrast the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution; to interpret the Constitution

ASSESSMENT: Scavenger Hunt over the U.S. Constitution

HOMEWORK: At this time, all students should have completed three-fourths of the Scavenger Hunt in class (they had to use a magazine and workbook for answers). They will be given some class time on Wednesday to complete it, but not all period. Periods 1, 2, and 3 have to finish the Compromise worksheet for homework tonight. Periods 6 and 7 have no homework tonight.
