Skills: To recognize important events and people in the New South movement
Assessment: Locating Main Idea Questions, Video Discussion . Students viewed the movie, "Freedom Song" today. This movie is powerful and portrays the activists called Freedom Riders who stood up for Civil Rights and changed history by taking literacy tests, registering to vote, and holding peaceful demonstrations. Students will view Part II on Thursday.
HOMEWORK: Study for Chapter 15 Test. The test will be multiple-choice and will be on WEDNESDAY. I reviewed all period on Monday and urged students to study Monday night, especially if they were going to the Oscars for iMovie teams tonight. Students should study their Chapter 15 Locating Main Idea questions and the text chapter.

Skills: To recognize important events and people in the New South movement
Assessment: Discussion Questions and CRCT review
Homework: Students have been given class time every day to complete the Locating Main Idea questions for Chapter 15 in textbook. They had a quiz yesterday over the material and will turn in all of the questions on Friday. They will have class time on Friday to complete the assignment, but if they are missing a lot, they should complete for homework.
The GA CRCT Social Studies Test is Friday. TRY YOUR BEST!! We have been reviewing all week.

SKILLS: Analyze the impact of Reconstruction on GA and other southern states
ASSESSMENT: Analysis and Comparison/contrast of 2 views about Reconstruction (students read 2 viewpoints on Reconstruction and respond to questions)
HOMEWORK: Reconstruction Worksheets - Finish by Monday (some students had class time to work on this and some had to finish their Study Guide)
COMPLETE ALL 5 PRACTICE CRCT TESTS BY WED. OF NEXT WEEK!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CRCT PRACTICE

2. Login with your student number (given to all students in my class)
3. Password is education
4. Click on STUDENT TESTS
5. Select SOCIAL STUDIES
6. TAKE THE TEST
7. Select GRADE MY TEST A pop-up window appears - Click OK
8. Print a page to prove you finished the tests successfully or bring a parent note.

ASSESSMENT: Oral presentations; Civil War Projects (students share scrapbooks, movies, PowerPoint presentations, battle scenes, etc.

HOMEWORK: Begin reading Chapter 14 (Reconstruction) Read pages 204 - 211 and complete Locating Main Idea Questions on p. 207 -210
