8th Grade Fitness- Week 6

Students participate in circuit training as well as Tae-Bo. In the upcoming weeks they will be having another classroom day and another written test. The information will be posted here and will cover Cardiorespiratory Fitness. Topics include target heart rate, resting heart rate, calculation of target heart rate, etc.

7th Grade PE- Week 6

Students completed regular season play this week and will begin NFL/NHL style playoffs on Monday. Championship games will be played on Thursday. The Flag football unit test will be on Friday. A study guide will be posted soon. Congratulations to the following teams...

6th Grade Health- Week 6

Students completed the Nutrition and Fitness chapter and will be tested early next week. The study guide will be posted prior. They also had a journal check today. Students did 2 days of basic Human Growth & Development. The girls went with a female guest speaker and the males stayed with me.

6th Grade Health- Week 5

Students continued the nutrition and fitness chapter this week. We viewed "Supersize Me", studied essential nutrients, and making healthy food choices. Journals will be due early next week. There will be 5 topics at 10 points each.

8th Grade Fitness- Week 5

Students completed circuit training this week as well as a days worth of speed and agility. This included speed ladders, low speed hurdles, and step work. They also completed written work including a major test on the muscle groups.

7th Grade PE- Week 5

7th grade began their flag football unit this week with pick-up games and instruction on specific positions, terminology, and basic play. On Wednesday, teams were picked for regular season play and playoffs. This unit will finish on 9/29.

6th Grade Health- Week 4

Students were tested on the previous chapter, "Taking Care of Yourself" Grades will be on I-Parent today. We started the next chapter, "Nutrition & Fitness" Please make sure your student has the Nutrition Journal homework assignment. It counts as both a homework and a test grade. If your student does not have it, you can print it below.

8th Grade Fitness- Week 4

Students participated in 3 days of circuit training and 2 days of Tae-Bo. The written muscle test will be at the end of next week. You may print a study guide off of this blog.

Students completed their Ultimate Frisbee unit with Championship games and a written test.
Overall scores were good and results have already been put on I-Parent.

8th Grade Fitness- Week 3

Students completed 4 days of circuit training and 1 day of Anatomy and Physiology in the class room. Students took notes on 9 major muscle groups, where they are located, their anatomical names, and how to work them. Click below for a copy of these notes. The written test will be the week of 9/11.

7th Grade PE- Week 3

Ultimate Frisbee teams played their regular season and began their playoff schedules. Championship and Bronze Medal games will be played the week of Labor Day. Good luck to all of the teams!

6th Grade Health- Week 3

The students have tackled our first chapter "Caring for Yourself" and seem to enjoy writing daily in their journals. The test on "Caring for Yourself will be on Thursday, 9/7. They have had a quiz on this info and have created their own study sheets with my guidance. The test will be multiple choice format. Good Luck to them all on their first test!
