Today students completed the Test Analysis on their Chapter 3 Test. Get the Test Analysis signed and return it to class tomorrow.
Students also were given a Cumulative Review covering Chapters 1 through 3. This will be checked on Wednesday.

Today students learned how to express ratios as fractions in simplest form and determine unit rates.
Homework is WB-P 3-1, all. Students had time to start the assignment in class.

Today we finished our Web Quest on Taming Word Problems. Homework for tonight is WB-P 1-1, problems 1 through 5. Use your decoding worksheet we completed in class to help you. You will need to follow the P.O.W. format:
1) Identify important information in the problem
2) Write down what you are trying to solve for
3) Choose a strategy
4) Use the strategy to solve the problem
5) Record your answer. Did it answer what you are solving for from
number two above?
Show all work on notebook paper.

Students got back their Fractions quiz from last week. Those who did not earn an 80% or better need to do some more studying! We discovered in class that there were many "careless errors" made.
Today we applied the rational numbers to solving one and two step equations. Homework for tonight is WB-P 7-9, 1-12. Show all steps and check on notebook paper.

We will have a quiz tomorrow covering 3-2 and 3-3, 1-step equations using all operations, the rules and the steps.
Homework tonight is to study your notes taken in class for rules and steps, and page 745, Lessons 3-2, odds, and page 746, Lesson 3-3, odds.

Today the students worked on 3 magic squares involving adding and subtracting decimals. I checked these individually. Complete these for homework if you did not finish them in class.
Also, complete the 2nd and 4th columns on worksheets 2-28 and 2-29 involving mutliplying and dividing decimals.
We will have a short quiz tomorrow involving decimals and ALL operations.
